Oceanus was an ancient Greek god. According to one version, he was born by the union of the primal gods, Chaos and Gaia, and was sanctified by the god Eros. Another version has it that he was one of the twelve Titans, thus a son of Gaia and Uranus.
As the myth goes, Oceanus and Tethys, another Titan, became a married couple. Together, they parented several children, including the Oceanids, the sea nymphs, and The Rivers. Each of their children was associated with water.
There were thousands of sea nymphs or Oceanids, and the pair also parented all the bodies of water, such as rivers, oceans, and lakes. Apparently, the Sea Nymphs were each responsible for a different body of water.
Inspired by Greek mythology, each suite represents a cosmogenic moment in our Universe’s creation and evolution. Our second suite, the Oceanus suite, draws its inspiration from the element of water, focusing on blue tones and highlighting the natural continuity of the earth and the sea.
